Behold: The Periodical Table of Newspapers
You are in the Missouri School of Journalism, so you probably don’t know much about science unless you are Ag Journalism. But even the scientifically inept among us can appreciate a little periodic table of newspapers creativity.
If you know how the real periodic table of elements is organized, this newspaper version (the periodical version, ha!) will make perfect sense. Newspaper titles have been replaced with two letters, so The New York Times becomes Nt, USA Today becomes Ut, and The Chicago Tribune goes bankrupt becomes Ct.
The papers are organized by circulation, so The Wall Street Journal is top dog, and the Times of Northwest Indiana is the runt of the litter.
