J-School Buzz is Hiring Editors and Contributors for the Fall

J-School Buzz is staffing up for the fall semester with a crack team of editors, writers and multimedia producers to take the site to new heights. That means we need you, Mizzou J-Schoolers!

Why do you want to work for us? You get to break news about the Missouri School of Journalism for a large and growing audience. That includes not just your fellow Mizzou journalism students and faculty members, but also J-School alums and journalism watchdogs around the country.

J-School Buzz will give you the opportunity to grow as a journalist as you get hands-on multimedia reporting experience and develop the ability to create content that has your own unique voice and style. JSB staffers have the freedom to report on the issues they care about as Mizzou J-Schoolers.

Your work will get people’s attention and have an impact. JSB has been featured on the Huffington Post, PBS MediaShift, Jim Romenesko, FishbowlDC and Poynter’s MediaWire to name a few. Our founder was even named to the College Media Hall of Fame for his work with the site. Your posts will be passed around widely and dissected on Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr, thanks to our social media presence.

Who we are looking for:

  • Risk-takers who aren’t afraid to step on a few toes to get the story
  • Web-savvy journalists who can write a story, shoot a video or record a podcast with original reporting and insightful commentary
  • Passionate student journalists who embrace criticism and learn from mistakes and/or failures on a public stage

We have embedded the application below. If you want to join our masthead, fill it out and submit the application (along with your resume) to Tips [at] JSchoolBuzz [dot] com.
